It was a TV cameraman from French television and a photographer from the French sports newspaper “L’Equipe”.

In addition to being excluded from the 15th stage from Les Gets to Bettex, everyone who caused the accident had to pay a fine of 500 Swiss francs (511 euros), as the organizer ASO announced.

Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) had launched an attack on Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) between Annemasse and Morzine shortly before the mountains classification, but had to stop the attack because there was no space between the slow-moving motorcycles and the fans.

“I wanted to attack one last time before the pass. I put everything in, then the bikes didn’t move,” said the Slovenian afterwards: “I wasted a cartridge there. But it is what it is. We will do it again attempt.”

Also thanks to this mishap, defending champion Vingegaard got the mountain classification of the hors category and thus eight bonus seconds in the overall classification – Pogacar had to be content with five seconds bonus on the mountain.
