Tollhub2022: Three days of games, fun and culture at Gut Hub – Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

It’s a jolly group that has gathered at Gut Hub in the evening. Women and men that the organizers of the Tollhub Festival can count on. So the meeting is also about the distribution of responsibilities such as baking cakes, supervisory service and serving drinks. Everyone knows their duties, every move has to be right. Without the many helpers, the Tollhub Festival would not be what it is: three days of games, fun and cultural enjoyment for everyone. After a two-year break due to corona, the festival will take place again this year. From May 27th to 29th, an alternative market, live music, cabaret and much more will attract visitors to Gut Hub in Penzberg.

For 25 years, Evi Mummert was at the head of the organizers of the “Kleinkunst” campaign. Now she has spread the responsibility on several shoulders. Her son Andi Mummert is part of the organizational team. He reports that the Tollhub Festival is increasingly focusing on sustainability. This year, the organizers have decided not to use the crockery mobile. Cold drinks are served in bottles, while hot drinks are served in “edible” cups made from grain and designed to taste like biscuits. Food is served on palm leaves. When it comes to cutlery, everything stays the same. And of course with a morning pint on Sunday. After all, who wants to drink their beer with a white sausage out of a paper cup instead of a proper glass. The organization team also relies on regional products. The Dorfbräu in Seeshaupt supplies the beer.

In 2019, at the last Tollhub Festival before the compulsory Corona break, the soap bubble artist Dacapo was a guest at Gut Hub in Penzberg.

On Friday, May 27, the Tollhub Festival begins at 8 p.m. with a cabaret evening. Andreas Rebers presents his program “I’m happy to help”. The cabaret artist is known for his black humor. He received many renowned prizes and awards for this, including the German Cabaret Prize, the Bavarian Cabaret Prize, the Dieter Hildebrandt Prize (2018) and the Swiss cabaret prize “Cornichon” (2021). There are still tickets for the evening (admission 25 euros) in advance at “Wohnkultur Baumgartner” by calling 08856/82091.

Big and small, young and old will get their money’s worth at Gut Hub (Vordermair 1) on Saturday, May 28th. The family day starts at 1 p.m. with a varied programme. “We have a lot of games,” says Andi Mummert. There’s a roller slide and a giant memory game, to name just two offerings. The alternative market also takes place on the square in front of Gut Hub. From 2 p.m. onwards, visitors can listen to a story woman. Live music can be heard in the beer garden. On top of that, the children’s and youth guard from Bichl and the Penzberg children’s guard will perform, reports Sandra Baumgartner, who is also new to the organization team. The Ingolstadt puppet theater will perform “Petterson and Findus” at 3 p.m. Entry costs eight euros. Tickets are available on Saturday from 1 p.m. at the box office at Gut Hub. If you want, you can also reserve tickets for the children’s theater by sending an e-mail to [email protected].

The wrestlers are also there: AC Penzberg calls for “rangling to join in”. Those who dare should be at Gut Hub by 4 p.m. The formation plays in the evening from 6 p.m beat hotel live cover songs by the beatles. During the day, children will mingle with the visitors with collection boxes for a good cause. Evi Mummert wants to collect money for Ukrainian children. The amount is to be made available to Unicef.

The Tollhub Festival ends with the traditional morning pint on Sunday, May 29th. Start is at 10.30 a.m. The music group is on the stage Williams Wetsox from Huglfing with Bavarian blues.
