The Bundesliga in the upper table region is going into the last day of the game with more excitement than it has been for a long time. The championship question is still open, and the race for the European Cup places is also hard fought.

The Bundesliga is offering more excitement this season than it has in a long time. In contrast to previous years, the champion is not yet certain before the last matchday.

Borussia Dortmund has the best starting position as the leader of the table. There is also still a lot to be done in qualifying for the European Cup. This is how the decisions in the fight for the title and the European Cup places are made on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky):

championship

Borussia Dortmund is two points ahead of FC Bayern Munich in the last matchday. If Dortmund wins against FSV Mainz 05 at home, they will have the title with 73 points, regardless of Munich’s result. If Dortmund draws or loses, BVB will still win the title if Bayern also only draw or lose.

Champions League

RB Leipzig, third in the table, has already secured qualification. 1. FC Union Berlin and SC Freiburg, who have the same number of points, are fighting for the last place. Both have 59 points, Union has a goal difference that is four goals better. Berlin welcomes Werder Bremen, Freiburg has to compete at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Europa League and Conference League

The allocation of places in the lower class European Cup competitions is more complicated. Union and Freiburg have at least fifth place and thus participation in the Europa League. Bayer Leverkusen (50/in Bochum), VfL Wolfsburg (49/against Hertha BSC) and Eintracht Frankfurt (47/against Freiburg) still have chances of sixth place. The decision about the European Cup participants is still dependent on the cup final between Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt. One thing is certain: the bottom of the table will not qualify for the European Cup via the league.
