The sound, which robs those affected by tinnitus of their peace and nerves, but in any case a considerable part of their quality of life, is only perceived by them. The ringing, hissing, ticking, whistling, humming, hissing, cracking or knocking sometimes remains constant, sometimes it increases and cannot be assigned to any external sound source. The others don’t hear about it – and yet it’s there.
