The planned biopic about folk legend Bob Dylan has been given a new title. Director James Mangold revealed this.

For a long time it had been quiet about a Bob Dylan biopic that had already been announced in 2020 and starred superstar Timothée Chalamet (26). Directed by “Indiana Jones and the Call of Fate” maker James Mangold (59), Chalamet will slip into the skin of folk legend Dylan (81) in the artist biography. Over a month ago, the 26-year-old actress confirmed to Variety, that the film with the working title “Going Electric” would still be in the making. Director Mangold also revealed just in time for Christmas that the title of the planned film project had changed. It now reads: “A Complete Unknown”.

James Mangold ‘can’t wait’

The twice Oscar-nominated filmmaker wrote on Twitter: “I can do it […] Can’t wait, but just so you know, the title is now ‘A Complete Unknown’. .

Timothée Chalamet with meticulous preparation

The shooting of Mangold’s work does not seem to have started yet, and an official announcement of the film is still pending. Main actor Chalamet, however, has already prepared meticulously for his role. “I never stopped preparing, which has been one of the greatest gifts for me. It was a wonderful experience to immerse myself in this world”, so the actor.

Chalamet says it has rented a house in Woodstock, New York, where folk legend Dylan himself lived in the 1960s. He also read Dylan’s autobiography “Chronicles: Volume One” and spoke to “Inside Llewyn Davis” director Joel Coen (68) about the folk scene of the 1960s.

The planned Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown” will be about the early years of Dylan’s career – from the very beginning to his then controversial switch to the electric guitar.
