What a talent at just two years old: Lethu is particularly advanced for her age, because the little girl can already read and form whole sentences.
Her mother Ntombi has only recently started teaching her daughter to read.
The two live together in Johannesburg, South Africa, where Ntombi runs a small company.
The 29-year-old shares her daughter’s progress on Tiktok – and receives a lot of positive feedback.
In her videos she shows how Lethu masters various tasks.
This includes speaking sentences, matching pictures to words, or reading sentences and books.
At just 17 months, the little girl can already list her body parts.
“Eyes? Head? Ears?”
In addition, Lethu can already speak two languages: Zulu and English.
The mother describes her Tiktok account as “educational content for toddlers”.
There she also explains to other parents how she manages to teach her daughter these things.
“First I taught her the names of the different letters. So Lethu, what is that letter? G. And what is that? A U. And this one? A B. Next I then taught her how to pronounce the letters . Now that Lethu knows the name and pronunciation, I’ll form words from those letters. B, U, and G make the word ‘Bug’.”
With her Tiktok channel, the mother wants to inspire other parents and show that it is important to teach children something from an early age.
