A mother died of her serious injuries as a result of a traffic accident in Lower Franconia. Three other people, including their eight-year-old child, were injured, the Würzburg-Land police station announced. Bundesstrasse 27 near Thüngersheim was closed on Thursday morning.
The police assume that the 33-year-old got into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons and collided head-on with the car of a 57-year-old. An 18-year-old driver avoided the two vehicles and ended up in the ditch. The woman died a little later in a Würzburg hospital, her child escaped with minor injuries.
