Three police officers were injured during an intervention at the end of the day Monday in Rennes. Called by passers-by, worried to see wandering people juggling with fire sticks, the specialized field brigade intervened around 5 p.m. at 45, rue Vasselot, in the city center of the Breton capital. The bicycle police then faced four men and two women, accompanied by dogs. One of the homeless people then threatened the officers before insulting them. When the police tried to stop him, the man fled.

It was during his arrest that the officers were injured. One was head butted, the other was injured in the elbow and hand and the last in the knee. One to four days of ITT were issued to injured officers. Aged 48, the man was taken into police custody Monday evening and is still there this Tuesday. Another homeless person was taken into custody. Aged 29, he allegedly tried to prevent the police from pursuing his friend, before taking out a machete, which he eventually put away.
