Three people died of drowning at sea on Monday in the Hérault, deplore the firefighters: a 40-year-old man in Marseillan-Plage, a 44-year-old man in Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone and a man 68 years old in Valras.

In addition, a 26-year-old man, who was drowning in Palavas-les-Flots, was able to be taken out of the water by the emergency services, and evacuated in a state of absolute emergency at the Montpellier University Hospital.

Red flag hoisted

The firefighters and first aid station rescuers also carried out on the same day, on the Hérault coast, around fifteen “safety measures” and treated 8 “aquastresses”, considered to be the first stage of drowning. , when the victim is conscious but shows signs of exhaustion. On Monday, the red flag was hoisted on the beaches and the firefighters called for vigilance.
