Three men arrested for siphoning 2,000 liters of fuel from trucks

They were betrayed by footprints left behind. Three men suspected of having siphoned 2,000 liters of diesel from four tanks of heavy goods vehicles in a company near Orthez, in Béarn, were arrested on Monday November 7, reports South West.

The three young suspects, aged 18 to 20, would have attacked the fuel reserves of this earthmoving company, between March and September with two samples of 300 liters, one of 700 liters and even one of 870 liters.

It was a canister bearing the fingerprints of one of them, and abandoned on the spot, which allowed the investigators to trace the trail to the suspects, hitherto unknown to the police. They would have admitted the facts and are summoned as such as part of an accelerated procedure, called the appearance on prior recognition of guilt (CRPC), in January 2023.
