This Saturday, three people, including two minors, were indicted for murder in Mayotte, after the death of a high school student victim of an assault on Friday, the prosecution announced.

Miki, 17, was attacked with scissors Thursday afternoon at the exit of the high school of Mtsangadoua in the north of Mayotte, by a high school student of the same establishment, while he was about to board the bus which brought him back his home. Injured to the lungs, neck and head, he was evacuated by helicopter to the Mayotte Hospital Center (CHM) in Mamoudzou, where he died on Friday. His assault was the third of the week in high schools in Mayotte.

In 2018, it was following the incursion of about fifty young people at the Eiffel high school in Kahani that the Mahorais took to the streets to demonstrate against insecurity. The movement had lasted three months, completely paralyzing this island in the Indian Ocean which has just celebrated the 10th anniversary of its accession to the status of a department.
