Three in four adolescents now vaccinated

If vaccination is slowing down to reach a “plateau” in the region, many young people are still coming to the centers. So much so that according to the Regional Health Agency, three quarters of adolescents in Pays-de-la-Loire (12-17 years old) have now received their first dose, or 10 points more than at the national level. An “encouraging” figure as the health situation continues to improve in the region.

So how do you explain this membership of young people, which is stronger than elsewhere? First of all by that of the general population and of Ligériens who seem more inclined to be vaccinated (67% of complete vaccination coverage) than in the rest of the country. The ARS also hopes that “the communication campaigns on social networks and on the beaches” have something to do with it. Not to mention that the health pass will be compulsory for teenagers from the end of September.

The epidemic decline is confirmed

At the start of the new school year, school leaders will take the lead in identifying the students who want to be vaccinated. “We will take them to existing centers or we will set up ephemeral centers in schools,” said the rector, William Marois. This new phase should not begin before ten days, while “vigilance is required” so that “the epidemic decline is part of the duration”.

This Thursday, the incidence rate of Pays-de-la-Loire finally fell below the symbolic threshold of 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. A decrease in the number of people hospitalized and in shifts is also observed.
