Thomas Ruyant won this Monday in Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe the Route du rhum after 11 days, 17, hours and 26 minutes of racing (beating François Gabart’s record dating from 2014: 12 days, 4 hours and 38 minutes) . With this success in Imocathe skipper, whose 20 minutes has been a partner since 2019 – we’re too happy for him, let’s face it –, signs a second victory in the event after his first place in 2010 in Class40.
It is also a second prestigious victory in a row for Thomas Ruyant on LinkedOut after the success with Morgan Lagravière during the Transat Jacques-Vabre 2021 in Martinique. The next ambition of the northern skipper and his TR Racing team, the Vendée Globe 2024. For the round the world, Thomas Ruyant will have a new boat, which should be launched in early 2023, and his main partner Advens has chosen to keep LinkedOut. TR Racing will therefore present two boats at the start in Les Sables-d’Olonne.
With the victory of Thomas Ruyant, the Route du rhum is over in three categories: the Ultim, success of Charles Caudrelier, the Ocean Fifty, category won by Erwan Le Roux this Sunday. Three other categories are still in the race Class40, Rhum Multi and Rhum Mono.
