It was the very last corner where you could still park for free, to go to the beach, in the land of Gold, near Montpellier (Hérault): this summer, you will have to pay 2 euros to park your vehicle. in the Lido parking lot. This rate, unveiled Monday and approved by the Mauguio-Carnon municipal council, is valid for the day, regardless of the duration. There will be a charge for parking from June 1 to August 31.

Seasonal workers and residents of the town will however benefit from a 10-euro pass to use this car park, the Petit Travers and Avenue Bassaget, all summer. These last two car parks will be charged 0.40 euros per quarter of an hour for the others.

Outcry

This site of 1,000 places, built on an unstable and humid site, requires “a significant maintenance”, indicated on March 12 to 20 minutes Yvon Bourrel (various left), the mayor of Mauguio-Carnon: “We have tried to keep free as long as possible (…) No longer finding the leeway that allowed us to ensure free until now, we call on the user to be the contributor.
