Gigi Birofio, Lucas Cordalis and Djamila Rowe all had prospects for the Australian throne. But in the end only one star could win. Who prevailed?
For 17 days, the stars fought for the crown in the Australian jungle. In the finale of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” society lady Djamila Rowe, singer Lucas Cordalis and reality star Gigi Birofio made it. It remained exciting until the end: who will be king or queen of the jungle?
Viewers were previously divided. On the one hand there was Lucas with a large fan base due to his father Costa Cordalis and his wife Daniela Katzenberger. On the other hand, there was Gigi, who particularly won over the younger audience with his easygoing jokes. And then there was the surprise candidate Djamila: She had taken over from Martin Semmelrogge and was enthusiastic about her development from a quiet camp resident to a self-confident woman.
This star won the 2023 jungle camp
Who got the most votes and follows in Filip Pavlović’s footsteps? It is Djamila Rowe. The audience chose her as the jungle queen 2023 on Sunday evening. The prize: fame, honor and 100,000 euros.
“I’m sick,” Djamila said first after the announcement and burst into tears. “I don’t even have a handkerchief. Shit, what am I going to do now?” she wondered as she walked around the campfire by herself. “It can’t be done, it can’t be,” she repeated over and over again. “I’m completely overwhelmed.”
At the coronation by the moderators Jan Köppen and Sonja Zietlow, she said: “I fought so hard. A very, very big thank you to everyone who supported me from the outside – who recognized my true soul and didn’t just pay attention to the externals .” That also moved Zietlow to tears.
Djamila broke off the final exam
The society lady, who became known through an alleged affair with a politician, had gained more fans every day. At first she was rather quiet: “I thought I was invisible,” she said at her coronation. But then she showed more and more strength and self-confidence as the show progressed. Read here how the audience reacted to their victory.
Lucas Cordalis was third
Gigi, with the moderators in his arms, said after his second place: “Of course I’m sad”, but he thanks his fans.
In the first exit round of the finals, Lucas was knocked out, taking third place. “Unfortunately, it didn’t win, but it was still a super nice adventure,” he said to Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen after being thrown out. The singer wanted to bring the crown back to the family – his father Costa had taken the throne in the first season in 2004.
12 stars fought for the crown
