At first glance, it is a bizarre story that has been making the rounds for some time: Russia is said to be targeting western refrigerators, dishwashers and washing machines. Not because people wash more now than before the war of aggression against Ukraine. Allegedly, Moscow uses the white goods from Germany and elsewhere to cannibalize them. Because of the sanctions, the country is lacking in a lot, and the semiconductors, Transistors, resistors, coils and capacitors can be easily extracted from household appliances. With the spare parts, Russia can then, at least in theory, repair its own war equipment.
