When Theresia Fischer took part in “Germany’s Next Top Model” in 2019, she had already gone under the knife eight times to be 14 centimeters taller. Now the marathon of operations is said to be over.

When the then 14th season of “Germany’s Next Top Model” (GNTM) hit the screens in 2019, the winner was Simone Kowalski. Today, however, she is remembered almost less than the candidate who “only” made it to eleventh place: Theresia Fischer. However, this is not primarily due to the modeling qualities of the now 32-year-old. Rather, Fischer has repeatedly made headlines in recent years with the crazy cosmetic surgery she underwent.

Fischer went under the knife for the first time in 2016 to have her legs lengthened surgically – because she had been bullied at school and “literally ‘made small’,” as she later told RTL. “During such an operation, the thigh bones are sawed through from the inside, then telescopic rods are inserted on both sides, which are automatically lengthened by one millimeter every day,” she once explained what exactly was done to her.

But it didn’t stop at one operation. Later, the surgeons also operated on her lower legs, partly because, according to Fischer, “certain sexual positions” no longer worked for her. “I can’t squat, I always fall backwards. I also have no flexibility in bed and always have to sort out my legs,” she said, giving an intimate insight into the problems she suddenly found herself confronted with.

Theresia Fischer now measures 1.84 metres

The operations are not without complications and excruciating pain. The result: The doctors worked on Fischer’s legs a total of eight times until the extension rods and screws were removed from her lower legs at the end of June. The leg lengthening procedure should now be completed once and for all. Instead of her original height of 1.70 meters, Fischer is now 1.84 meters tall.

“I have to say, I am now much more flexible and delicate – even in bed. Because the proportions are balanced,” Fischer rejoiced in an interview with the “Bild” newspaper on the sidelines of an event in Hamburg at the weekend.

And he continued: “I’m just glad that I’ve completely put this whole thing behind me. That my legs, which were created at the request of my ex, are now in such a way that I can walk properly again. That I can now give him the middle finger because he no longer has the representative that he always wanted: a tall model woman next to him.”

The ex is the documentary filmmaker Thomas Behrend, whom Fischer accuses of having pressured her to have leg lengthening surgery. In the finale of GNTM 2019, Fischer and Behrend, who is 28 years older, symbolically celebrated their wedding in front of the cameras before they actually went to the registry office the next day. The couple separated in 2022. Today, Fischer is in a relationship with a dentist named Stefan. He is also 26 years older.
