“The Work” by Susanne Kennedy at the Berliner Volksbühne: Let yourself be buried – Culture

For a moment, you think that the new play by the Berlin Volksbühne could be about the working class in the old tradition. “The Work” is the name of the latest production by director Susanne Kennedy: Working class hero is something to be! But because we have landed in the hell of subsidy hipsters and class struggles are far too old school and not chic enough for the decadent milieu of the art world, Work does not represent honest hard work, but the work of a fictional and recently deceased artist named Xenia. Xenia, in turn, is a kind of doppelganger of the director.
