The two Afghan Paralympic athletes who could not reach Tokyo due to the Taliban takeover in their country, arrived this Saturday in Japan and will participate in the Games, announced the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

“The Afghan Paralympic team, represented by Zakia Khudadadi and Hossain Rasouli, arrived in the Japanese capital on Saturday (August 28), ready to participate in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games,” said the IPC in a statement, specifying that they ” were evacuated last weekend from Kabul to Paris ”, before reaching Japan.
