The town hall will have to make its municipal agents work more

The unions of the territorial public service have filed a strike notice valid from this Monday, August 30 at Lyon city hall. The town hall, which employs a trifle of 8,500 people, must indeed comply with the law concerning the number of days of leave of its municipal officials.

The latter have in fact benefited for several mandates from three additional days of rest per year compared to the legal working time (1,607 hours per year). However, the government, for the sake of equity and efficiency of public spending, asks authorities that are a little too generous apply the common rule, report it
day-to-day Progress.

Same situation in other cities

Negotiations are opened with the staff representatives. The three additional days of leave could be maintained for trades considered “arduous”, as provided for by law. On the other hand, for the others, the days in question could be deleted. Otherwise, an extension of the weekly working time is envisaged.

A reduction in the number of annual leave or an increase in working time is also under discussion in other municipalities, such as Paris.
