A 62 year old man was indicted on Monday for “murder and attempted murder”, two days after stabbing a young salesman in a telephone shop and seriously injuring another in a shopping center de Claye-Souilly (Seine-et-Marne), said the prosecutor’s office in Meaux.
A judicial investigation was opened for these two counts, as well as for “attempted murder” on the customers of the shopping center who allowed his arrest, and who filed a complaint, announced in a press release Laureline Peyrefitte, the prosecutor of Meaux. At the end of his police custody, during which he admitted the facts while expressing “no regret” for his action, the suspect was placed in pre-trial detention, she added.
A deal of 93.70 euros
At midday this Saturday, he presented himself in a Bouygues Telecom store “dissatisfied with an invoicing that he had just seen”, traced the floor. He explained that he had not managed to be reimbursed the sum of 93.70 euros, said this source. The scene, which took place in this shopping arcade in the northeast of the Paris suburbs, was “brutal” and “extremely fast”, she continued.
According to the first elements of the investigation entrusted to the departmental security and to the police station of Chelles, the customer, irritated by this commercial dispute, had a “brief verbal altercation” then violently stabbed two employees. One, aged 18 and affected in the heart, died on the spot despite the intervention of the emergency services. The other victim, 21 years old and injured in the thorax, was taken to hospital in serious condition, but his vital prognosis is no longer engaged, said the prosecution.
Four men needed to stop him
A third employee managed to flee, while being chased by the attacker in the store, weapon in hand, said this source. The individual, residing in the neighboring town of Villeparisis, was arrested by an off-duty policeman and two clients, assisted by a prison officer also off-duty.
Of Senegalese nationality and holder of a residence permit, the man has three previous convictions in his criminal record. He also suffers from “probable psychiatric history” that the procedure must make it possible to specify, indicated the prosecution.
