The strike of liberal doctors renewed for a week from this Monday

The offices will remain closed. The Doctors for Tomorrow collective, at the initiative of the general practitioners’ strike, has decided to renew its appeal for a second consecutive week. “It is with great regret and bitterness that we officially call for a second week of strike by liberal doctors in France: from January 2 to 8, 2023 inclusive”, explains the collective. on its website.

The striking doctors are calling in particular for a doubling of the basic consultation fee (from 25 to 50 euros), to create a “shock of attractiveness” towards city medicine in dire need of staff.

Demonstration on January 5

“Unfortunately, the government did not deign to pay attention to us despite this first week of strike”, explains Doctors for tomorrow, who judges to have been “unfairly lectured” by the Minister of Health François Braun. The latter had found the mobilization “particularly unwelcome in this period of extreme difficulty for the health system”.

The collective is also calling for a demonstration on January 5 in Paris. The movement will march towards the Ministry of Health.
