The schedule is getting clearer. The large Covid-19 vaccination center which will open on April 6 at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis) will operate “at a minimum” for six months, with a first objective of 10,000 injections per week, has announced Wednesday the director of infrastructure.
“The plan provides for a minimum opening for the next six months. The first four weeks will be focused on primary vaccinations, and the goal is to ramp up, ”said Alexandra Boutelier, general manager of the Stade de France consortium.
Two rooms reserved for vaccination
The vaccination center, jointly managed by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Ile-de-France, the prefecture of Seine-Saint-Denis, the departmental council, the city of Saint-Denis and the brigade of sappers -pompiers de Paris, will include two rooms reserved for vaccination, and a call center for making appointments, via a single call number.
Fifty people, mainly students and young job seekers, were recruited to answer the calls. Seine-Saint-Denis, a poor department which recorded the highest excess mortality linked to the coronavirus during the first wave of the epidemic, is currently recording a record incidence rate.
The center will be open “six days a week”
Half of the 10,000 appointments available each week will be reserved for residents of the department, the rest will be accessible to residents of other departments of Ile-de-France.
The center will be open six days a week, Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 8 pm or 9 pm. If it must be seven days a week and 24 hours a day, it will be seven days a week and 24 hours a day (…) We are ready to step up, “assured the director of the Stade de France. On Wednesday morning, the ARS said it had enough doses to maintain this rhythm of 10,000 vaccinations per week “at least in April and May”.
