The Série Série festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary from June 30 to July 3 in Fontainebleau and online – Series Series

Series Series of Fontainebleau which celebrates its 10 years with an anniversary edition and “a little more focused on the French market”, the Covid-19 pandemic requires.

The last edition was held online due to the health crisis. This year, the “reunion”, placed “under the sign of transmission”, will take place from June 30 to July 3 in Fontainebleau and on the Internet, travel between countries being further complicated, explained Marie Barraco, founder and general delegate of the festival, during a videoconference.

The general public will be able to discover or rediscover free of charge a dozen series from the Old Continent, with in particular the outdoor screening, Place de la République, and a preview of Leonardo, a co-production of L’Alliance, the audiovisual grouping of France Télévisions, RAI (Italy) and ZDF (Germany), devoted to Leonardo da Vinci.

The series will also be presented Container (Russia) on the journey of a surrogate mother, Cargo (Finland) on the drama of migrants, season 2 of Mortal (France), or The luck of your lifee (Switzerland) about a penniless family who wins the lottery, created by David Elkaïm and Vincent Poymiro, the writers of the series In therapy.

Screenings but also meetings, with Ron Leshem, Israeli screenwriter and producer at the origin ofEuphoria, a teenage series adapted by HBO in 2019, or Ita O’Brien, “intimacy coordinator” or coordinator of intimate scenes, a new profession that is emerging in Hollywood to avoid slippages during sex scenes. Ita O’Brien thus worked on Sex Education, Normal People and I May Destroy You. Michaela Coel’s series is one of the standout series of 2020, to which the festival will return, with also Shtisel (Israel), It’s a Sin and Small Ax (UK).

Note the presence of Bisha K. Ali, the showrunner of Ms. Marvel, the next Marvel event series, and Disney +, very committed to the promotion of diversity. Rosa Bonheur’s castle will also open its doors for a daily meeting between two professionals who have worked together, between screenwriters Camille de Castelnau (The Legends Office) and Marine Francou (Gears) for example, or actress Alix Poisson and composer Audrey Ismaël (Germinal).

Other events are to be discovered for the profession and the public, like an exhibition of photos of sets by Caroline Dubois throughout the city.
