While Nvidia announced a price of €279 for its new entry-level graphics card, the RTX 3050 is currently available today at prices around €600. These are the only models on sale, while the manufacturer promised more stocks than for its other GPUs.
In our review of the RTX 3050, we asked this simple but no less existential question: is it possible to obtain a graphics card capable of displaying ray tracing and equipped with DLSS for less than 300 €? Normally, this question would be rhetorical, because Nvidia’s recommended price is €279. But we are not living in normal times, at least certainly not in the world of graphics cards.
Shortage here, shortage there… You are beginning to know the song. For over a year now, GPU stocks have been hit by endless breakouts that make drive prices to previously unimaginable heights — despite a few glimmers of hope. So it’s no real surprise that the only RTX 3050 models available right now are selling for… 589 €.

In itself, Nvidia has therefore kept its promise. There does exist more stock available for the GeForce RTX 3050 than for its range neighbors – insofar as it is, quite simply, available. But not sure that the players agree to throw themselves on a model whose technical sheet is much less generous than that of its companions, and this, for 300 € more than expected.

Though. The situation of RTX-3000 seems so desperate that those who have been waiting for months to review their setup may well end up being tempted. But, putting things into perspective, that seems rather unlikely. For the same price, many opt instead for older but more powerful models than this new entry-level, by sacrificing interesting features.
Thus the majority of PC gamers are equipped with a GTX 1060, capable of displaying most current games provided you are not too greedy on the settings, rather than a state-of-the-art graphics card. Given the current situation, this isa decision that is as understandable as it is sensible.
