The Rolling Stones conquer TikTok. Frontman Mick Jagger personally encourages singing and dancing.

The Rolling Stones on Thursday (January 19) her official TikTok channel @therollingstones launched. Frontman Mick Jagger (79) alias @jagger connects with a personal channel. His bandmate Keith Richards (79) is as @offizialkeef been active on the social media platform since last year.

According to the media release, the TikTok channel promises “exclusive insights behind the scenes of live shows, studio recordings and much more”. The first videos released by the band give a foretaste of this. Featuring rare archive footage, they encourage fans to perform, move and dress like The Rolling Stones.

The hashtag #therollingstones and cult hits such as “Start Me Up”, “It’s Only Rock ‘N Roll (But I Like It)” or “Miss You” are available for this purpose. “I’m so excited to see what you guys do with our music,” says an excited Mick Jagger in his first TikTok clip. His band plans to share some of the creations on their official account.

Live best of “GRRR LIVE!” appears in February

The Rolling Stones will also release the live album “GRRR LIVE!” on February 10th. They recorded the accompanying concert on December 15, 2012 in Newark/New Jersey. The highlight are guest appearances by stars like Lady Gaga (36, “Gimme Shelter”), The Black Keys (“Who Do You Love?”), Gary Clark Jr & John Mayer (“Going Down”), Mick Taylor (74, ” Midnight Rambler”) and Bruce Springsteen (73, “Tumbling Dice”).
