We finally know the release date in the United States. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakesthe prequel to the saga The Hunger Games, will be released on November 17, 2023 across the Atlantic, for Thanksgiving. The information was revealed Thursday by Lionsgate during CinemaCon in Las Vegas, reports in particular Variety.
This new part will take place several decades before the The Hunger Games of Katniss (played by Jennifer Lawrence in the trilogy), and will be the adaptation of the novel The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird by Suzanne Collins released in 2020.
The film will thus look into the fate of young Coriolanus Snow, the tyrannical future President Snow, played by Donald Sutherland in The Hunger Games. The cast is not yet known, apart from director Francis Lawrence, as the site claims. Allocinated.
