We must go further to help French farmers. The association of Regions of France asked the government on Friday for the creation of “a dedicated emergency fund” after the frost episode which damaged “entire areas of our agriculture”.

“Faced with the extent of the damage, the disaster fund or the classic solutions, such as the deferral of charges or taxes, provided in the event of a freezing episode, must be reinforced by an exceptional effort allowing the compensation of charges and losses. loss of revenue ”, states Regions of France in a press release

“Risk of seeing farms disappear”

The Regions “ask the government to set up this mechanism in the name of national solidarity”. “The risk today is to see many farms disappear,” they stress. “We must at all costs put in place a system commensurate with the subject and the losses encountered by our farmers.”

The creation of a special compensation fund has already been requested by the president LR of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional council, Laurent Wauquiez.
