The Ragnagnas Party festival wants to celebrate taboos on sexuality and gynecological health

Periods, gynecological health, contraception, sexuality… These are all subjects that the Nouveaux Cycles association has planned to tackle without taboos during the first edition of its Ragnagnas Party festival organized on October 15 and 16
at the Rocher de Palmer, in Cenon (Gironde). The association, created by six Bordeaux women in 2019, for example carries out interventions on sexuality education in middle and high schools and has organized the collection of 5,000 hygienic protections to fight against menstrual insecurity. The godmother of the event is none other than Charline Vermont, who created the Orgasme & Moi Instagram account, followed by more than 500,000 people.

Round tables, concerts, shows

On Friday, she will host a meeting with 400 middle and high school students from Gironde on the theme of taboos related to sexuality. She will then launch the public opening conference of the festival from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., returning to the discussions with the teenagers. In another room at the Rocher, around sixty health professionals will be invited to discuss the theme: “How to improve the gynecological course in France? “” It takes between 8 to 10 years on average for a diagnosis of a menstrual pathology in France, points out Sarah de Vinage, one of the founders of the association, or, typically on endometriosis, this would affect 10 to 15% of women. This generates depression, pain that is not taken into account and it is the leading cause of infertility in France. “

On Friday evening there will be an evening of concerts with Almä Mango, George Ka and Illustre. “We chose three artists known for protest texts that touch on the feminine but also on inclusiveness, on notions of genres, in connection with the themes of our festival”, underlines Mathilde Plaineau, co-founder of Nouveaux Cycles. On Saturday, seven round tables with experts are organized for the general public. Charline Vermont will host one on “Consents, sexualities are explored!” “, It will also be a question, for example, of gynecological health (” It hurts, it’s not normal ?!) “and an overview of existing contraception. Saturday evening, the festival will close under the sign of humor with the show “Please stand up”, directed by Aude Galliou and carried by a collective of four artists: Farah, Anaïs Tampere Lebreton, Marie Desroles and Alexandra Pizzagali.

Throughout the festival, a collection of protections is organized and cookies with evocative medallions will be sold on site by “Be My cookie” which will donate 10% of its sales to the Nouveaux Cycles association.
