That is the job of their great-grandchildren
The great-grandchildren of Queen Elizabeth II will not only be seen on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at the platinum jubilee celebration.

For the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the Royals are traveling across the country. And the Queen’s great-grandchildren also make an appearance.
The royal family is celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee (96) this year. And even the smallest royals will appear to be making an appearance at the celebrations. Ten of the Queen’s 12 great-grandchildren are reported to be riding in a carriage in a pageant at the Royal Windsor Horse Show on Sunday 15 May.
The three children of Prince William (39) and Duchess Kate (40) will sit in the carriage as “The Telegraph” reports, citing the “Sunday Times”.. Prince George (8), Princess Charlotte (7) and Prince Louis (4) will be accompanied at the gala event by the Queen’s eldest great-grandchildren, Savannah (11) and Isla (10) Phillips, the children of Peter (44) and Autumn (44) Phillips. The children of Zara (40) and Mike (43) Tindall, Mia (8), Lena (3) and Lucas (1) should also be part of the party. As did one-year-old August Brooksbank, son of Princess Eugenie, 32, and Jack Brooksbank, 36, and August’s cousin, Sienna Mapelli Mozzi, seven-month-old daughter of Princess Beatrice, 33, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 38.
Practice for the big performance
The children reportedly practiced getting in and out of the carriage and how best to pose for photographers during a family reunion at Windsor Castle. Whether the two children of Prince Harry (37) and Duchess Meghan (40), Archie (3) and Lilibet (11 months), will take part in the event has not been confirmed. The event comes two weeks ahead of the big celebrations the Sussexes are expected to attend.
Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor (18) will play an important role in the show in mid-May. The Queen’s youngest granddaughter will drive the carriage that once belonged to Prince Philip (1921-2021). The Duke of Edinburgh is said to have inherited her. Her appearance at the Windsor show also honors the Queen’s husband.
More appearances by the Cambridge children
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are likely to make at least one more major appearance. The Cambridge children are said to be a “visible” part of the Jubilee celebrations, standing alongside other key members of the royal family alongside their parents at the Trooping the Color military parade on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on June 2. According to the royal family, only royals who are currently fulfilling duties on behalf of the Queen are invited.
That would exclude Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan. They stepped down as senior royals in 2020 and moved to the United States. Queen’s son Prince Andrew (62), who retired after the Epstein scandal, is therefore not included.
What are Harry and Meghan doing?
It is still unclear which events Harry and Meghan, who announced their participation in the celebrations in early June, will attend. The Queen herself intends to appear on the balcony for Trooping the Color, attend a service at St Paul’s Cathedral and attend the Epsom Derby, it has been said. All further performances will probably be announced soon. A spokesman for the royal family said, according to British media: “The Queen is looking forward to the weekend and will be attending the celebrations, but her presence will only be confirmed in a timely manner or even on the day itself.”
The palace previously announced that senior royals would travel on behalf of the Queen over the anniversary weekend. Duchess Kate and Prince William will be in Wales. Princess Anne (71) is visiting Scotland and Prince Edward (58) and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex (57) are visiting Northern Ireland.
In a statement, the palace said, according to People magazine: “Over the course of the central weekend, members of the Royal Family will visit countries in the UK to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. Members of the Royal Family will attend events in each country , including at public events on this occasion.”
