They recommended “that she be placed under medical supervision”. Queen Elizabeth II’s doctors are “concerned” about her state of health, Buckingham Palace said on Thursday. The Queen, 96, is currently at her Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
“The Queen continues to feel comfortable and at Balmoral,” the palace said in a brief statement.
On Wednesday, Elisabeth II had agreed to postpone a meeting in which she was to participate.
She leans on a cane
On Tuesday, she had received, in her Scottish residence, Boris Johnson who had come to present his resignation, then Liz Truss, whom she officially appointed Prime Minister.
Footage released by the palace showed the 96-year-old sovereign, smiling and leaning on a cane, shaking hands with the new ruler, who became the fifteenth head of government in her 70-year reign.
