The number of trains goes from single to double on the Nantes-Clisson-Cholet line

Regulars should appreciate the difference. Since Monday, nine round trips by TER trains, compared to only four previously, have been offered on weekdays (from 6:06 a.m. to 7:35 p.m.) on the Nantes-Clisson-Cholet rail line. An additional round trip is also added on Saturdays, as well as two on Sundays. In addition to the three cities mentioned above, this line serves the stations of Torfou (Maine-et-Loire), Boussay-la-Bruffière (Loire-Atlantique) and Cugand (Vendée).

This increase in supply is made possible by the completion of three years of modernization work on the Clisson-Cholet axis. A siding and an automated switch post, allowing trains to cross, have, in particular, been created at Torfou.

Better link the two main employment areas in the region

The tracks and signage were also renewed, while level crossings were removed. The site will have cost no less than 48 million euros, financed mainly by the regional council of Pays-de-la-Loire.

The objective of the work was to “better connect the two main employment basins in the region, which are the Nantes metropolis and the Choletais basin”, justifies the community. With these new frequencies, regular travelers will be more tempted to abandon their car in favor of the train.
