The best films are always those that you cannot see, that are lost or in the poison cabinet. “Cocksucker Blues” by Robert Frank is such a film. The Swiss-born emigrated to the USA as a young man, became known as a photographer (“The Americans”) and made films. In 1972 he accompanied the Rolling Stones on their US tour, he was allowed into their dressing rooms or private jets. Mick Jagger liked the film, but for PR reasons it was not released for distribution. Since then it has rarely been seen, but now the Munich audience has the opportunity to see it: As part of a retrospective in honor of Robert Frank, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year, his Stones film will also be shown (on September 28th at 9 p.m.), alongside works such as “Me And My Brother”, “Candy Mountain” and “Pull My Daisy”.
