The mother of a plaintiff indicted for non-denunciation of crime

In the Jean-Luc Lahaye case, the number of defendants accumulates. This Thursday, the mother of one of the young women who filed a complaint against the singer for rape and sexual assault was indicted. “At the end of a painful interrogation”, this woman is reproached for not having denounced the facts of which she would have known, declared her lawyer Me Vincent Demory.

“She does not intend to dispute it. She was prepared for it and understands its full significance,” he added. “My client recalls her affection for her mother,” said Me Nathalie Bucquet, lawyer for the two complainants.

Another mother and the singer’s daughter in the sights of justice

The hearing of the mother of the other complainant, who was also initially summoned for an indictment for non-denunciation of a crime by the judge in charge of the investigation, was postponed “sine die” due to his state of health, said his lawyer Chantal Corbier d’Hauteville. The two mothers are suspected of not having denounced the fact that their daughters had, when they were teenagers, had relations with Jean-Luc Lahaye.

On Monday, the singer’s daughter, now 69, was indicted for “tampering with witnesses” in this investigation, suspected of having pressured the complainants to keep quiet.

Recall of facts

The star of the 1980s was indicted on November 5 in Paris in particular for “rape and sexual assault of minors over 15 years old” after the denunciations of the two young women, born in 1998 and 2000. The alleged facts, qu he contests, would have started in 2013. Already convicted for offenses with minors in 2007 and 2015, he was remanded in custody.

Among the two complainants is the teenager to whom Jean-Luc Lahaye had asked to indulge in sexual games by webcam, when she was 15 and 16 years old. He had been sentenced for these facts to a one-year suspended prison sentence on May 18, 2015 for corruption of a minor.
