“The target people are the same for the flu and the Covid”he recalled. “The pace has picked up a little over the past week” : among the over 80s, about 20% received a fourth dose, 35% to 40% for the 60-80s, “It is largely insufficient”he estimated.
Aside from vaccination, he persists in “Strongly recommend wearing a mask”. The minister, who was not wearing one on set – because “we are not in an enclosed, promiscuous place” – recalled that he was not “not favorable to coercion”. But if the numbers continue to rise and a decision has to be made on an obligation, “my arm will not shake”he assured.
“Sorry” level of vaccination against Covid-19
“I follow the situation day by day and the decisions will follow the evolution of the situation”, said Mr. Braun. Before him, the president of the Committee for monitoring and anticipating health risks (Covars), Brigitte Autran, lamented in an interview with the Sunday newspaper (JDD) level “disappointing” vaccination against Covid-19 by also calling “to reinforce the wearing of a mask, as well as barrier gestures”.
According to health authorities, on November 28, 2 million people had received a booster shot against Covid-19 since the launch of the booster campaign on October 3 with bivalent vaccines. Among them, 1.8 million people had been injected with such vaccines, which target the original strain and the Omicron strain of Covid.
“The return of the compulsory mask is a political decision and it is not for us to decide. But we must move towards wearing a mask as much as possible in closed places, where there is significant promiscuity ”, she abounded.
