This resident of Salsigne (Aude), a septuagenarian, was discovered, lifeless, in a freezer, in circumstances that have not yet been revealed. According to the first elements of the investigation, the death would be recent.
An investigation into the causes of death was launched this Saturday, July 23, following the discovery of the lifeless body of a septuagenarian, in a freezer, at her home, in circumstances which have not yet been been unveiled. The Carcassonne public prosecutor’s office, which has requested an autopsy, does not wish, at this stage of the investigations, to provide any details on the circumstances of this death.
The septuagenarian had been living in the small village of Salsigne, on the slopes of the Montagne Noire, north of Carcassonne, for a few years, in a house located in the heart of the village, not far from the War Memorial. She lived there with her husband, who was heard as a witness. In this case, no police custody would have been carried out for the moment. The couple had gradually renovated their home. In the town, they were known, at least by sight: “We greeted each other when we passed each other”, testifies a resident.
The death of this septuagenarian could date back to the very last hours. This person, in fact, would have been seen at the itinerant fish market coming from Conques and which stops at Salsigne on Friday mornings. According to our information, the death was discovered this Saturday morning.
Pending the results of the autopsy, the investigation into the circumstances of this death has been entrusted to the Carcassonne research brigade.
