The Last Romantic: Painter Albert Venus Rediscovered in Dresden – Culture

Of

Peter Richter

Until now, the only thing that still reminded us of the painter Albert Venus was the Albert-Venus-Weg, which is hidden where the last houses of Dresden-Loschwitz meet the grove above the “Royal Vineyard” of Wachwitz. The steep, narrow and also quite short footpath connects Ludwig-Richter-Straße with Kotzschweg. Except for the immediate residents, hardly anyone knows about this overgrown, rarely used path. And until recently, not even they knew who Albert Venus was.
