As initially planned by the executive, the vaccine against Covid-19 from the pharmaceutical laboratory Johnson & Johnson, will be administered in France to people over 55 years old, announced the government spokesperson on Wednesday.

“We have received the first delivery of vaccines, that is to say 200,000 doses which arrived at the beginning of the week in our territory and which are being sent to the town medicine and pharmacy dispensaries” , said Gabriel Attal, who also reaffirmed the “confidence” of the French authorities in the AstraZeneca vaccine, contrary to Denmark, which has definitively renounced it.

The vaccine from the Johnson & Johnson laboratory was suspended in the United States and South Africa on Tuesday April 13 due to the rare occurrence of serious blood clots.

The American authorities recommended “a pause” in the injections, while affirming that this would “not have a significant impact” on the immense vaccination campaign in the United States, since these doses represent less than 5% of those. administered in the United States to date.
