The autopsy report of the Nantes medical student who died after being vaccinated against Covid-19 with the AstraZeneca vaccine “strengthens the hypothesis of a causal link” between the injection and the death, said on Saturday the family lawyer.

“Expertise indicates that the cause of death is abdominal thrombosis (…) in the spleen with very recent clots”, explained Me Etienne Boittin, lawyer in Saint-Nazaire. The report does not mention “any infection, virus, cancer or tumor, which can generate thromboses”.

Three investigations opened after deaths

Thus, according to the lawyer, “the autopsy report does not say that the AstraZeneca injection was the cause of death. But it eliminates a certain number of possible causes and reinforces the hypothesis of a causal link between the injection of AstraZeneca and the occurrence of death ”. The young man had been vaccinated on March 8 and died on March 18.

The public health department of the Paris prosecutor’s office has taken up three investigations opened following complaints filed by the families of people who died after being vaccinated against Covid-19 with AstraZeneca. This public health center, competent to carry out investigations concerning highly complex offenses related to a health product, is now leading the preliminary investigations opened for “manslaughter”, after the filing of complaints in Toulouse, Paris and Nantes, and initial investigations carried out by local prosecutors.

According to Me Etienne Boittin, who received the autopsy report on Wednesday evening, “the next step is to continue the investigations from a medical point of view and from a judicial point of view to request the referral of a judge. instruction ”. He specified that the autopsy report of the social worker who died at 38 in Toulouse should be known “next week”. Me Boittin said to be seized of fifteen cases of people who died in France after having been vaccinated with AstraZeneca, overwhelmingly “under 60 years”.

The use of the AstraZeneca vaccine has been restricted in most countries of the European Union due to the very rare cases of thrombosis it can cause. Denmark no longer uses it. In France, since March 19, the vaccine is no longer administered to those under 55 years of age.
