The giant flag of Paris 2024 could not be deployed during the handover due to the wind

This was to be the highlight of the handover between the Tokyo Olympics, which closed on Sunday, and those of Paris 2024, which will take place in just three years. But the famous giant flag of the Parisian Olympiad finally never floated in the sky of the capital, the fault of a strong wind, in any case too much for this carcass of 5,800m².

The Parisians therefore gathered for nothing at the Trocadero, Sunday at midday. There was a party, but without the highlight of the show, the taste is necessarily bitter. The operation, which the city and the organizing committee of the 2024 Olympics knew to be laborious, had nevertheless been tested in June. But, report Le Figaro, no solution had been found to deal with the hypothesis of too strong a wind. In the defense of the organizers, it was difficult to predict this sad fall weather at the height of summer.
