The G7 company has shut down its Tesla electric taxis after the serious accident that took place in Paris on Saturday, the group’s communication confirmed.

The taxi struck two pedestrians, then a glass container which, in shock from the speed, was thrown into the air and exploded on the ground. The number of vehicles affected is low according to G7, which was not able to immediately provide the number of Tesla in its fleet, but puts forward the figure of 37 taxi drivers, some vehicles being able to be shared. Tesla, which has access to certain technical data, assured that there was “no technical failure” of his car. The manufacturer does “no comment” at this stage on the shutdown by G7 of its Tesla taxis. A spokesperson for the American car manufacturer also said on Tuesday that the company remained “at the disposal of the authorities” to transmit to them the data which it can have remotely on the vehicle concerned, without giving further details.
