The film “Cruel Intentions” will be adapted in series

This classic from the late 1990s will experience a second wind. As reported Deadline, the film Cruel Intentions starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Philippe is going to be adapted as a series, developed by IMDb TV, Amazon’s free premium streaming service.

Phoebe Fisher and Sara Goodman, already in charge of the reboot of Remember last summer, will be co-writers, and Neal H. Moritz, who produced the original film in 1999, will be executive producer on this new project.

A big box office success

Adapted from the film itself based on the novel Dangerous relationships from Choderlos de Laclos, the series will once again feature a ruthless duo, twins who will do anything to preserve their powers and their reputations at the heart of a prestigious university in Washington. The names of the actors and actresses of this new version are not yet known, as is the date of the broadcast of the series.

As reported BFMTV, the original film from the 1990s had been a real hit with viewers, despite bad reviews. It had grossed more than $ 76 million at the box office, and won numerous awards at the MTV Movie Awards and the Teen Choice Awards.
