A long fight. The daughter of Robert Boulin, minister found dead in a pond in the forest of Rambouillet in 1979, sued the state for “serious misconduct” before the Paris court, denouncing the lack of progress in the investigation, a- we learned this Thursday from his lawyer Marie Dosé.

“I do not despair of justice because I am resolutely a democrat but I have been waiting for justice for forty-two years, I am very patient but it damages our democracy not to do everything to know the truth about the death of my father ”, also declared Fabienne Boulin-Burgeat. She accuses the two investigating magistrates of Versailles (Yvelines) of “not working” to advance the investigation.

Initial findings insufficient to conclude suicide

A new college of experts mandated to determine the causes of the death of Robert Boulin had found in 2020 the initial findings insufficient to conclude “formally” a death by drowning of the former minister found in a forest pond de Rambouillet in 1979. These conclusions, revealed by The Parisian-Today in France, constituted “a major turning point in the fight for the search for the truth”, had estimated Fabienne Boulin and her lawyer Marie Dosé in a press release sent to AFP.

On October 30, 1979, Gaullist Minister Robert Boulin, 59, was found dead in a pond. This mystery dating from the seven-year term of VGE is still not elucidated. When he was found in a pond in the forest of Rambouillet (Yvelines), in about 50 cm of water, Robert Boulin (RPR) was Minister of Labor in the government of Raymond Barre. He had previously held several portfolios under the presidencies of Charles de Gaulle and Georges Pompidou, and during the current seven-year term of Valéry Giscard d’Estaing.

Investigators conclude suicide by drowning after ingestion of barbiturates. The minister had just been questioned concerning the conditions for acquiring land in Ramatuelle (Var).
