On December 14, the evening of the World Cup semi-final, a coordinated action on Telegram brought together in Paris some forty ultra-right activists over-equipped to commit violence against Moroccan supporters. “Libé” retraces the backstage of the operation which made it possible to challenge the neo-Nazis before their passage to the act.

On Monday, December 12, at 4:38 p.m., the message fell on the encrypted Telegram messaging system, within a closed group of 49 members, dubbed “Training Crew”: “Wednesday 8 p.m., France-Morocco. Meet at 8 p.m. at the Pont-Cardinet metro station. There will be many of us, so we will spread out over several [bars] around the square. General mobilization, to defend our flag against the hordes of Moroccans. Frequented by far-right activists, including some members of the Zouaves Paris, a neo-Nazi group addicted to bodybuilding and fighting (yet officially dissolved in January 2022), the loop is supposed to be used for the organization of boxing training. But on December 12, it is a call in question. Forty-eight hours later must be held the semi-final of the Football World Cup between the France team and Morocco. And the Zouaves Paris, as well as their associates, do not intend to let the supporters of the Cherifian kingdom parade near what they consider to be one of the banners of patriotism: the Arc de Triomphe.
