Exchange of 2021 tickets possible until March 15
Since June 2020 and the end of the first confinement, the government had relaxed the conditions of use of these meal vouchers distributed by companies to their employees. This relaxation had already been extended twice in 2020 and 2021. The doubling of the authorized daily amount was to stop at the end of February, but restaurateurs “have again been penalized in recent weeks”, justified Bruno Le Maire. In addition, by the transition from the health pass to the vaccination pass, which deprived many customers of the possibility of going to the restaurant.
The Umih, the main employers’ organization in the sector, welcomed this announcement. These measures “have made it possible to very significantly increase the average amount of transactions in the catering industry” since their implementation, underlined Hubert Jan, president of the catering branch, quoted in a press release. “This new extension should allow certain establishments to benefit from a welcome increase in activity,” he added. In addition, the Ministry of the Economy clarified in a press release that employees still had the possibility of exchanging their 2021 titles with their employer for 2022 titles, until March 15.
