In the night from Sunday to Monday, a 22-year-old woman was killed by several stab wounds in Hayange, in Moselle. His companion, who was actively wanted by the police, was finally arrested, we learned from the mayor of the city and the Metz prosecutor’s office.
“The victim received five stab wounds,” said the mayor (RN) of Hayange, Fabien Engelmann. “The firefighters were notified at 12:40 am, but the victim was already in cardiac arrest when they arrived on the scene. They stayed until 3 am, ”he said.

“The suspect is on the run, he is the victim’s companion,” Metz public prosecutor Christian Mercuri told AFP, specifying that the investigation was entrusted to the Metz judicial police. “The suspect was arrested by the judicial police in Hayange during the afternoon at the home of another person,” said the prosecutor.
The 23-year-old suspect of Serbian nationality had already been sentenced to one year in prison for traffic offenses. He had recently benefited from a modification of sentence and had been placed in mid-May in house arrest under electronic surveillance (DDSE), added the prosecution. The suspect and the victim are the parents of a little girl born in 2017. The child has been placed in placement, the prosecution said.
