the classification of the 10th stage of the Tour of Italy won by Valentin Paret-Peintre

The French double! Swallowing Jan Tratnik in the last kilometers, Frenchman Valentin Paret-Peintre raised his arms on the 10th stage of the Giro this Tuesday. Romain Bardet also managed to beat the Slovenian to the post.

Smiles after a day of rest. We weren’t far from heartbreaking for the French this Tuesday on the 10th stage of the Giro, between Pompei and Bocca della Selva, but Valentin Paret-Peintre (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) and Romain Bardet (dsm-firmenich PostNL) were perfect to beat Jan Tratnik (Visma-Lease) in the home stretch! However, the Slovenian had taken the lead 35 kilometers from the finish, thanks to an acceleration from Filippo Fiorelli (Bardiani CSF-Faizanè).

>> Relive the 10th stage of the Giro

But the attack by “VPP” three kilometers from the finish proved fatal. This is the second French victory in this Giro 2024 after that of Benjamin Thomas (Cofidis) during the 5th stage. Note that Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal-Quick Step) was in the mix but had to call the medical car 40 kilometers from the finish. No change overall, Tadej Pogacar remains pink jersey.
