The CHU will pay bonuses to employees who find nurses to hire

At the Montpellier hospital (Hérault), we suffer, as in other health establishments, from a shortage of nurses. The sector, weighed down by intense work rhythms, no longer appeals. And CVs are increasingly rare on university hospital offices. In an attempt to find nurses, the Montpellier hospital has decided to pay a bonus to its employees who will find candidates ready to be hired.

“Immediately, I can recruit 80 nurses, confides to 20 minutes Judith Le Page, Director of Human Resources and Training at the University Hospital. Over the whole year, I need to hire 350, to compensate for natural departures, that is to say retirements, employees who follow spouses, or professional retraining. The need is all the stronger, at the Montpellier University Hospital, as the establishment has continued to develop in recent years. This year, the hospital will inaugurate a new department of oncology and hematology. And twenty new nurses will be needed to accompany this opening.

From March

“At the Montpellier University Hospital, in total, we are 12,000, doctors and non-doctors, continues Judith Le Page. We tell ourselves that if 12,000 professionals activate their networks, and talk about vacancies as nurses, we will have a much better chance of finding people than if we only do traditional recruitment procedures. »

Thus, if a CHU employee (apart from supervisors) submits a nursing CV to the hospital’s Human Resources Department, this leads to employment, and the new employee remains at the hospital for at least , a few months, he will be rewarded with a cooptation bonus. The payment amount has not yet been determined. It must still be discussed, in the coming days, between the management of the Montpellier University Hospital and the unions. The device is expected to launch in March.
