It’s his trademark. That of talking about current events through his art, and more particularly his typical red resin sculptures. In 2019, the street artist James Colombina tried to raise awareness about the condition of migrants who die in the Mediterranean by installing a work representing the body of a child lying under a shroud in Paris and Toulouse.
Two years later, it is also to the youngest that he refers in a new sculpture installed without authorization in a busy street of the Pink City. We see a child soldier, with a rose at the end of his submachine gun, obstructing the barrel. “In Ukraine, but also in Afghanistan or Syria, they are taken hostage, they are the first victims of armed conflicts in the world. I wanted to represent a little soldier who defends peace, who could symbolically shoot flowers”, explains the artist who feels free to be able to express his ideas, without censorship or constraint.

Two years ago, on the first day of winter, he placed a sculpture of Emmanuel Macron on a homeless camp, wanting to “denounce the trivialization of poverty” and bring the President of the Republic. Works that are always committed, whether for the defense of the environment, against the omnipresence of screens or even against extremes.
