The top dog on the Ambach lakeshore is making a fresh start – and it looks like it’s doing everything right. Reservations are therefore highly recommended, especially at weekends.
Outside, a cloudburst is falling and Lake Starnberg is sending unusually fierce waves onto the Ambach shore. There is no one around, the pier is closed, and the rain is pelting down on the beer garden tables. This makes Peffekoven and his companions all the more comfortable sitting in the small room of the fish master, who has just opened the doors and kitchen at twelve o’clock. There is not much going on yet, three solid gentlemen are sitting in the corner drinking wheat beer, two tables further on a couple, a little embarrassed, obviously on a first date. Two girls are painting at a table by the kitchen. The quiet charm of the moment gives us the opportunity to look at the beautiful details of the wonderful old inn: the green tiled stove, the wooden benches, the crucifix in the corner.
